Welcome to STEP Mortgages and Neils blog……

This is the first, its been a while since I took the time to write my thoughts down so I hope you find this interesting, useful and maybe humorous (Who knows, I’ll try!!)?

So we are 4 weeks into STEP Mortgages and its certainly been a landing littered with learnings.

The first learning for me is that I have a small head… I know this as its only 56 cm in circumference but that hasn’t stopped me trying on the Financial Fedora, The Broker Beanie (Its cold and I’m bald!!), The Marketing Miki Hat and the Paraplanner Panama…. Most of these are new and trying but I have some superb support professionally, so I do not quite look like a clown!

The second learning is that my industry is full of superb humans who all want to do their very best for each other and the support I have had both in the lead up to starting Step and since has been nothing short of amazing – This is an incredibly industry with huge power for good, be that how we help our clients with their mortgage needs or the charity work done by so many through to how we are agents for positive change in people lives and do actually help dreams come true (Mainly funded by debt but no dream was ever cheap!!)

My final learning for today I that I have noticed over these last 4 weeks that I hear things so much more clearly…. Random comment I know but from listening to music and hearing lyrics that I have never heard truly before has been an odd sensation but I think is one driven by having less “Noise” in my small brain…… A sense of clarity and purpose has settled over me….

So that’s the first blog, very self indulgent and will be followed up by a more industry focused version now I’ve started writing again……
